Different Types of Back Pain

Having a sore back is no picnic. Whether you’re getting ready to run a marathon or simply get up off of your sofa, back pain can put a serious damper on your daily routine.

Given the complex and interconnected nature of the human spine, there are countless ways to incur back pain. Bad posture, lifting a heavy object incorrectly, twisting your body in an awkward manner—all of these can lead to a sore back for you.

Facet joints, spinal nerves, segmental muscles and intervertebral discs are among the many back components that can lead to dorsal pain if tweaked or injured in any way. Likewise, several types of back pain exist—some more severe than others.

Being able to recognize the type of back pain you’re experiencing can be helpful in finding the root of the issue as well as aid in determining a potential treatment. Here are some examples of the types of back pain you might encounter:

Referred pain. Typically dull in nature, referred pain often changes location and can also vary in intensity. If you’re experiencing lower back pain due to a degenerative disc, for example, you can sometimes feel referred pain in your hips and the back of your thighs.

Radicular pain. This pain is more pronounced and shock-like in nature as it follows the path of your spinal nerve along the spinal canal. Typically caused by inflammation or compression of a nerve root, radicular pain can sometimes affect your legs as well.

Axial pain. This type of pain is typically limited to a single area on your back. It can be dull or sharp in nature and also inconsistent in terms of its duration and level of intensity. Muscle strains are the most common cause of axial back pain, with disc or joint tears also being potential reasons for it.

The Benefits of IV Infusion Therapy

In the hectic, fast-paced world we live in, it can sometimes be tough to take the time we need to make sure our bodies are in good working order and receiving the proper amount of TLC they need. Just like your car needs an oil change every now and then to stay in tiptop shape, your body needs to be tended to regularly and given an infusion of essential nutrients once in a while.

IV infusion therapy is a great way to take care of several of your body’s needs in a convenient, quick manner as it delivers nutrients and vitamins directly into your bloodstream. When you take a vitamin orally, your digestive system metabolizes some of its elements and reduces its overall effectiveness. IV infusion therapy allows you to bypass the digestive process entirely and ensure that your organs are receiving the nutrients they need.

Here are some additional benefits of IV infusion therapy to consider:

 PROPER HYDRATION

Up here in the high altitude of Colorado, dehydration is a common occurrence. IV infusion therapy has been proven to be the best way to properly hydrate your body and promote optimal organ functionality. Dehydration can lead to serious medical issues such as kidney stones and muscle tissue damage, so staying properly hydrated should definitely be on your priority list.

 INCREASED ENERGY & IMMUNITY

We could all use a boost of natural energy occasionally, and IV infusion therapy is a great way to achieve that with premium-quality compounds. Additionally, your immune system can benefit from IV infusion therapy, as can your circulatory system. Electrolytes such as magnesium sulfate help lower your blood pressure and alleviate feelings of stress or anxiety while essential nutrients such as Vitamin C protect your immune system and overall health by neutralizing toxins before they’re able to damage cells.

 FEEL BETTER, LOOK BETTER!

Every time you step outside, you’re exposed to potentially harmful toxins in the environment that can be of detriment to your health as well as your appearance. IV infusion therapy helps provide your body with the antioxidants it needs to flush out these harmful toxins more effectively as well as fight off premature signs of aging.

In addition to these notable benefits, IV infusion therapy can also help improve your skin, reduce migraine headaches and even promote weight loss!  To learn more about the benefits of IV infusion therapy, be sure to give us a call at 720-445-5228 or click HERE to schedule an appointment with one of our wellness experts.
